Our Core Beliefs
Wyandotte First Baptist Church- is an evangelical gospel preaching Southern Baptist Church seeking to be Bible-Based, Christ-Centered, and Spirit Driven.
B-Bible- We Believe-"The Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is God's revelation of Himself to man. It is a perfect treasure of divine instruction. It has God as it's author, salvation for its' end, and truth, without any mixture of error, for it's matter. (II Tim. 3-15-16, II Peter 1:19-21)"
A-Autonomy- We Believe-"A New Testament church of then Lord Jesus Christ is an autonomous local congregation of baptized believers, associated by covenant in the faith and fellowship of the gospel (Acts 2:41-42. I Cor, 1:2)"
P-Priesthood of the believer-We Believe- Any person thet believes and receives the gospel message of Jesus Christ reborn, indwelled by the Holy Spirit, and fully forgiven and cleansed from all unrighteousness by the blood of Jesus Christ that paid in full for their sin. Therefore, every believer can now feel confident to boldly enter into the Holy of Holies as Jesus sits at the right hand of the Father making intercession for His own.
(Rom. 8:34, Heb. 4:16, I John 1:9, Phil. 4:6)
T-Trinity- "There is one and only living and true God... To Him we owe the highest love, reverence, and obedience. The eternal
triune God reveals Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being." (Gen.1:26, Is. 44:6, Luke 1:35John 1:1,14, II Cor. 13:14)
I-Immersion- We believe- "Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. It is an act of obedience (and testimony) symbolizing the believer's faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Savior, the believer's death to sin, burial of the old life, and the resurrection to walk in the newness of life"(Matt 28:19, Romans 6:4)
S-Security of the believer- We believe- Scripture teaches that once a person believes in faith the gospel of Jesus Christ and enters the family of God that they are saved for eternity. They are a new creature in Christ adopted into the family of God by faith in the blood of Christ and sealed for eternity by the guarantee of the Holy Spirit. (Rom 8:1, 19-31, I Cor. 16:11, II Cor. 1;22, Eph.1:4-5, II)
T-Two Ordinances- We believe- We hold to the belief that their were two ordinances given the New Testament church to continue, The first that of believer's baptism described above, the second being The Lord's Supper or Communion, which we understand to be a symbolic act of obedience in which we partake in bread and in the fruit of the vine to memorialize the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ freely given for the remission of our sins. (Matt, 26:26-28, I Cor. 11:26)
